Our sustainability statement?
Sustainability is at the core of our brand proposition - 'scrubbing up kids and the planet'. We have 2 core principles that guide us in relation to sustainability: 1. It's never done - it's something we're always working on, we're not perfect and that's OK but neither are we complacent, there's always something else that could be better. 2. Mass appeal - Impact is a function of what you do multiplied by the number of people you reach.
What UN Sustainable Development Goals are we contributing to?
We believe that what we are doing is contributing towards the following UN sustainability goals: 1. Responsible consumption & production 2. Life below water 3. Life on land
Do we have any certifications?
All our products are safety tested for compliance with EU Regulation 1223/2009 which enables them to be legally sold within the EU.
What internal measures do we take to reduce our company’s carbon footprint?
MATERIALS - Use a minimum of 50% PCR in packaging, working towards 100% - Using materials that are themselves recyclable like our refill pouch (many refill pouches are not) - Trying to maximise use of common materials (componentry and ingredients) across products to minimise waste - Using 98% natural ingredients that will have much less impact when they leave the plughole. - Sourcing from as close to home as possible - the majority of our ingredients and componentry are UK sourced. PRODUCTION - All our production takes place in the UK - Our secondary packaging is all recyclable cardboard boxes or paper jiffy bags OPERATIONS - We store all our products in one place, where we pick and pack to minimise transport
How do we adhere to fair labor conditions?
We're a very small, lean machine at the moment with just 2 employees. However, we bring our values to how we treat our employees with empowerment and kindness at the core of our approach as we recognise that businesses are only built by people. We work with an experienced HR consultant to ensure our approach to recruitment is a fair, transparent, inclusive and legal process and likewise for our employee contracts and remuneration. We have an employee handbook and full induction programme for all new starters and all our employees have a. development plan that is reviewed quarterly. We also adopt very flexible working practices such as home working and flexible hours to enable an optimal work/life balance.
