Bluebell Lane Jewellery
Bluebell Lane Jewellery completed a sustainability assessment as part of our partner application process. To promote transparency, their responses to our questions are below:
What is our mission?
To raise awareness of Ecosilver by communicating its importance to my customers. To provide long lasting, timeless pieces of jewellery and encourage a Shop less, Shop better approach.
Our sustainability statement?
When building Bluebell Lane Jewellery, Ruth knew it was important to run it as sustainably as possible, and frequently asks herself the simple question, Can I do/buy/make this in a way that's kinder to our planet? So what makes Bluebell Lane a sustainable brand? Well, along with compostable packaging, planting trees for occasions such as Green Friday, and using chemical alternatives in the workshop, the main element that Ruth is passionate about is Ecosilver. Ecosilver is Recycled 925 Sterling Silver, which is made by melting down things such as scrap jewellery and medical equipment, and can be recycled time and time again without losing any of its quality.
What UN Sustainable Development Goals are we contributing to?
Responsible Consumption and Production.
Do we have any certifications?
What internal measures do we take to reduce our company’s carbon footprint?
I am in the process of teaming up with a company who help small businesses to measure and offset their carbon footprint. While the carbon footprint of my studio and processes within it are pretty minimal, it is the delivery of orders that has the most impact from my business. I currently have an option available at the checkout of my website to opt in to carbon neutral shipping.
How do we adhere to fair labor conditions?
As I'm currently just a one woman show, I don't yet have a Fair Labour Policy in place.
